Earth Hour and beyond

A couple of friends and I made our way to Fitzgerald's on Queen in the Beach for an evening in the dark with some amazing musicians and dancers. As the lights were turned off in support of Earth Hour we watched as the dancers and musicians prepared for their performances. First up were a few dance troupes demonstrating Tribal belly dancing.

This type of dancing is less flirty and much more earthy and sensual. While most people know of the flirty belly dancing this one proves to have more power over a mixed audience.

Next up was a wonderful violinist who later also preformed on a bodhran (type of celtic drum).

His haunting song was mesmerizing. I was able to get some video of his drumming, although its quite dark. I will hopefully add that sometime later today.

And finally two lovely ladies went on and preformed with djembe and hand drums.

Overall a wonderful evening of music and dancing. I look forward to their next event in April and as summer approaches they can be found around Woodbine Beach spreading the joy of their crafts.
